I’ve discovered certain patterns in the transfer deals between Axel Lothar, Kerem Alkan, Aykut Zan and Fatih Terim of Istanbulspor. It seems whenever one of Axel Lothar, Kerem Alkan or Aykut Zan finds a new team they sell off their best players to Istanbulspor within the first few days of management. The deals does not look too bad individually, but the pattern discovered is that Istanbulspor ends up with the best players in all the transfers. In my opinion it looks like Istanbulspor looks through the unmanaged teams for talented players and make one of his “friends” apply for the job.

I have not taken the time to go back through the seasons to look at the value of all the retired players etc, but the pattern is clear. Istanbulspor gets help with loans and collecting stars from unmanaged teams before other managers get a chance to make an offer. Some of the quality players he has signed should be impossible to buy in todays market.

Below I’ve listed the manager history for each of the managers and looked through the transfer history to compare dates:

4th February 2013: Fired from the manager position in FC Kotayk.

18th June 2013: Hired as Manager of Denizlispor.

20th June 2013: Karazi sold to IST for 6mill + 2 retired players.

This deal was the start of my suspicions. It didn’t make sense for Motherwell to sell off two of their best players. Otamendi and Oktay were of the same age as the rest of their first team, while Ji Sung and Zellwegger were a year younger and had less quality.

I'm sure Bryan is still waiting for a reply from IST before making a decision, altho I don't think the IST manager will reply until he has a superb excuse for the allegations.

I have to add that Fatih Terim has done a great job as a transfer admin, except from his own case. We need atleast two transfer admins without any affiliation with eachother.

It has to be said that there might be more dodgy deals. I did not have access to the entire manager history of Aykut Zan and I did not research the history of all the teams he has dealt with.

It's good that this pattern was noticed. Let's keep our eyes open for future transfers. I think loan deals have been exploited for a long time, and need to be regulated too
