I like very much the fact that the armenian manager is playing my GK in friendlies but it bothers me that he should play youth instead.
There is no reason why a manager must line up youngsters or play friendlies. I prefer them to, but it's no obligation. Furthermore lining up youngsters doesn't always have to be the best strategy for increasing your chances of winning the WC.
So I can confirm this:

Trying to find the best line up of mature players has never been considered as abusive.

Not more than it used to, in my opinion.
Concerning Abdas:
With Abdas, the question for me is whether Adriel Abdas is better than Luiz Carlos Ceccon. The other players ARE better than Abdas, or were used because they have a different position and it doesn't make sense to line up DFs only. For instance Kaká could have played for this reason, and that's fair to me.
Personally, I prefer Abdas to Ceccon. Second, I know that Abdas has more monetary value than Ceccon. The latter unfortunately is the way people often look at NTs, but that's totally invalid in my opinion. Not the most valuable player has to play. Value doesn't bring any benefit to a NT.
In my opinion Abdas is probably already beter than Ceccon, despite his lower age. But can I unarguably say that he is better objectively? No, but almost. This case would have been interesting enough for me to contact the Brazil manager if somebody had complained about it. And indeed, an admin is trying to get in contact with the manager.

it's not proud, it's simple fact, the rule is about managers playing their own players above a better player... it prevents manager abuse. This guy isn't playing your player correct, but it interpretative if the other players are better or not... I think Abdas is better, but the second part of that is not met, he is not playing any of his own players, therefore it is not abusive.
Let me explain NT abuse a bit more. I think AJ forgot about some other instances for which we tend to use the same word (NT abuse). For instance the case where none of the manager's own players is involved, but where he gives a player matches as part of a transfer deal. In this case the manager uses the NT to the benefit of his own team even though it is not very visible.
