I love this new format! Previously it was awkward juggling the final matches with time to actually get them registered. Having a week between matches at the end is perfect.

Also, I added the match dates to the top of the notes on the schedules.

I usually roll with the 20th to give teams time to sign up but still have time to reg the first match. Looking at the fixtures, 4 of our teams already have matches scheduled for Saturday (not counting Motherwell and Cobreloa who are scheduled with each other). Since so many teams would have to cancel to before trying to reg, let's stick with the 20th so we aren't trying to make up too much ground.

Vitesse and Iraklis both already have matches scheduled for the 20th as well. I will leave those results blank on Sunday so hopefully the matches can be made up on a cup date (5th round or earlier). If they aren't able to be made up they will end up 3-0 for the opponent.

9 teams gives us 9 rounds, so the dates will be: 3/20, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24, 4/28, 5/5 (6th Cup Rnd), 5/8, 5/12, 5/19 (Cup Quarter Final). Semi on 5/26 (one week to schedule), Final on 6/2 (one week to schedule).

Last note, on the schedule Home and Away isn't specifically shown. I think it is reasonable to assume that Home is on the left and Away is on the right. However, if you schedule and play it differently it will stand just the same.

I hope that all makes sense! Excited for the matches to start and I am really starting to miss having a youth team to participate!

I really like Alan's idea with the finals too. The semi final with #3 @ #2 will be on May 26th (same as FG cup semi) and the final of #2/#3 @ #1 will be on June 2nd (same as FG cup). Starting the first match this Sunday March 20th we will have to take both the 6th FG cup round and 1/4 Final round for match days as well.

I am happy to proceed with the one group and my interest will be kept alive in my attempt to finish above Motherwell :lol:

Perhaps you could introduce a play-off at the top of the table.

Top of the table reaches the play off final.
Second place meets third place at home in a one leg semi final.
The top of the league team then meets the winner of the semi final at home in the final.

This way there is some reward for finishing in the top two and it will also hopefully keep interest alive for the mid table teams trying to sneak into the top three to take on one of the big guns in the play offs.

All of us in the same group appeals to me. Most of us are building a new team from scratch using youth players so will be a good marker to see how our teams are developing and strength and weaknesses against similar opposition so i dont think you need to worry about teams losing interest in my opinion.

We could definitely do this! My only concern is that teams would lose interest as the matches drew on if they were towards the middle or bottom of the group. Maybe going with the final being 1st and and 2nd place would help alleviate add some of the intrigue? Although, I suppose that is also just part of life for a young teams of youths and any success is seen as positive.

I'm happy to go this route if most would like to!

With only nine teams signed up so far your suggestion sounds like the ideal scenario Fatih.

That way everyone plays eight games (four home and four away) and there is no need to split teams into groups based on their perceived strengths.

I am sure a random fixture list generator could be used to allocate the fixtures evenly throughout the nine fixture dates.
