What a season! Congrats to our winner Iraklis Thessaloniki! Iraklis did what they had to do to win in the final game after Gamba Osaka won the first leg 2-1. Iraklis held Gamba to 1 goal while netting 3 themselves to win by 1. Even in losing the future is bright for Gamba Osaka. Bookmakers have already marked them as the odds on favorite to win the youth tourney next season, but we will see what happens on the pitch!

Congrats to Iraklis, Istabulspor, Leotar, and Gamba Osaka for making the semi finals!

As a side note, the tables for Group B show every team with a negative goal differential except for Istanbulspor. A neat look into the dominance they had in the group.

Also many thanks to all the teams who have been eliminated! This tourney couldn't happen without you. May you all have wonderful updates to come back stronger next season!

I am amazed at how everyone has a play
If somehow Vitesse beats Istanbulspor, they are the second team in the group.
If Istanbulspor beats Vitesse, the winner of Zhenis and Leotar is 2nd. If they draw, then it depends on how badly Istanbulspor beats Vitesse. If it is a victory by 3 or more it looks like Chornomorets could be in.

Complete toss up and I'm excited to see what happens!

Not sure what direction we should go if you two are unable to play on the 7th as well. Certainly am open to suggestions!

Awarding a 3-0 victory in either direction if you are unable to play could radically change things for other teams in group B. When matches are played tomorrow we will see the full implications. A draw between Zhenis and Leotar would make this discussion moot. Furthermore, the second leg of the first round is also a cup date. Should Vitesse make it through to the Cup Quarter Finals they won't be able to compete in the Youth Tourney knock out round anyways. Fairest route may be to make the semi final a single match at home for the group winners.

These Div 1 teams are always messing with our ability to play tourney matches on cup dates! :wink:

This might be the most wide open both groups have been since we restarted the tourney. Even in B group any team can make the knockout round. It will be fun to see the results of everyone's matches!
